Summers Rock at Play and Learn!

Our School-Age Program is for families who want their children between the ages of six and thirteen to have a place where they can relax, make new friends, enjoy the company of old friends, gain new knowledge, and have fun doing it!

Our summer program is one of the best available. Fieldtrips to such places as the zoo, science and nature centers, parks, movie trips, ball games, shopping at every kid's favorite store (the dollar store) and much more make for a fun summer. The children help plan and manage many of the field trips that we take. Parents will receive a field trip calender at the beginning of the summer to help them remember all the future trips. Weekly permission slips will be sent home as a reminder to parents as to all the fun that the children will be having!

In and Outs of Daily "Big Kid" Life

Our school-age children range from 1st grade to 7th grade and are a unique group in our school. Often, the older children help the younger children with their homework, which is a daily after-school occurance. The teachers are also available to help the children with their homework, if needed, and to talk with and plan activities for the "big kids"  Daily discussions among the older children center around current events, their school life, various social activities, getting along with others, and the "golden rule" (Treat others the way you would like to be treated). Often, we enjoy taking a stroll to the labyrinth located across our parking lot. The labyrinth is a maze that has been used since the ancient times to help people sort through their thoughts and feelings. It is a valuable tool to use for children of this age group and their growing young minds. The teachers enjoy this very much, as it helps both the children and teachers to become more aware of the thoughts and feelings of others.

Many Generations Working As One

Having older and younger children playing and learning together is a fun and rewarding experience for all involved! The older children like to help the younger children, as this makes them feel needed and important, and the younger children love the attention from the older children. The children also have a special relationship with the senior citizens upstairs. We do special activities and participate in fun events with them, which allows both the children and senior citizens to share a unique friendship.

School Age Transportation
If your child attends Saline Area Schools (with the exception of Harvest), we provide transportation to and from school for him or her in our own certified mini-bus. You can rest assured that your child will arrive at and return from school safely and on time!
